Fall is finally here, much to the relief of those of us who are ready for a break from this year’s scorching summer. With the autumn season comes the crisp fall North Carolina air that many of us look forward to all year, cooler temperatures, and a whole lot of fun events in Raleigh. The state capital is a vibrant, exciting city with plenty to do for people of all tastes. If you’re looking for fun things happening in Raleigh this October, check out our list of just a few of the upcoming events below.

Wednesdays on Glenwood

Hump day is cool again! Every Wednesday, downtown Raleigh comes alive with this exciting tradition. Head to Glenwood to experience a weekly smattering of great food, live music, and local artists and enjoy all that the local businesses in the area have to offer. Held from 5-10 pm each Wednesday evening, this event is a great way to get to know the downtown Raleigh community and explore parts of the city you may have overlooked. Whether you are a Raleigh local or visiting from afar, this event is a can’t miss!

Click! Triangle Photography Festival Exhibition

Calling all photography lovers! The Triangle Photography Festival Exhibition will take place at the Mahler Fine Art Center on Fayetteville Street starting October 15. Held throughout the month until November 7, this exhibition showcases the best of what the Triangle Photography Festival has to offer. The exhibition will end with a First Friday reception on November 6 from 6-9 pm.

Downtown Raleigh Triangle Food Tour

If you are a foodie, the Downtown Raleigh Food Tour is the place to be this October. These guided walking tours around the capital city take you on a culinary adventure through the best eateries and restaurants that Raleigh has to offer. Cost is $55-60 per person, and tours are available daily with advanced registration.

Raleigh Zombie Walk 2015

Do you want to have a screaming good time and benefit the American Red Cross Triangle Area Chapter at the same time? The Raleigh Zombie Walk provides the perfect avenue for you to get into the Halloween spirit a little bit early. On October 24, dress up in your best zombie garb at Moore Square at 7 pm for a great night of fright--all for a good cause.

Family Fun at the 2015 NC State Fair

October is an exciting time for many in North Carolina as the State Fair returns to the Raleigh fairgrounds. This year’s event runs October 15-25 and will feature rides, tons of food, exhibitions, and more. This event is an annual tradition for folks all across the state, and it should be a tradition for you as well.
